EVAPCO’s MT series of closed circuit coolers is the first in the industry to feature composite fibreglass panels formed entirely by an advanced, environmentally friendly, LRTM closed mould manufacturing process. The advantages of this process include high quality solid laminate construction, uniform part thickness, low part variation, complex shapes, and reduced styrene emissions.
MTW Closed Circuit Cooler
- EVAPCO’s MTW is the first closed circuit cooler in the industry to feature composite fibreglass panels formed entirely by an advanced, environmentally friendly, LRTM closed mould manufacturing process.
- The concept and design basis of the MTW stems from EVAPCO Australia’s proven MEC product line, having 20 years of installed history.
- The MTW is unique in the industry having SolidEdge designed patterns, moulds machined by 5-axis CNC, and with parts manufactured using LRTM.
- All aspect of the MTW, from concept to design to manufacture are performed “in-house” and by EVAPCO.
- The final assembly of fabricated and globally sourced components is completed at one of EVAPCO’s facilities.
- Country of original for the final assembled produts is available from Australia, Belgium, Italy or South Africa.
The process fluid is recirculated through the coil of the closed circuit cooler. Heat from the process fluid is dissipated through the coil bundle to the water cascading downward over the tubes. Simultaneously, air is drawn in through the air inlet louvers at the base of the cooler and travels upward over the coil in the opposite direction to the water. A small portion of the water is evaporated which removes the heat. The warm moist air is drawn to the top of the closed circuit cooler by the fan and is discharged to the atmosphere. The remaining water falls to the sump at the bottom of the cooler where it is recirculated by the pump, up through the water distribution system and back down over the coils.
Thermal-Pak II Coil
EVAPCO's Thermal-Pak II coils patented design assures maximum cooling capacity. The airflow through the coil is counterflow to the fluid flow, providing the most efficient heat transfer process. A special coil design is utilised to reduce the air pressure drop through the unit while maximising tube surface area and increasing its heat transfer capabilities.
- Elliptical return bends allows for more circuits per coil bundle increasing the maximum capacity per footprint
- Coil located in airstream increasing dry bulb switchover temperature
- CrossCool Internal Tube Enhancement increase fluid turbulence providing additional evaporative capacity
Drift Eliminators
- Limits the drift rate to less than 0.001% of the recirculating water rate
- Limit the potential of spreading Legionella
- Constructed of an inert polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
Superior Air Inlet Louver and Screen Design
- Constructed of an inert polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
- Two pass design that minimizes splash-out and the potential for algae formation inside the tower
- Framed in steel in easily removable sections
Pressurised Water Distribution System
EVAPCO's Zero Maintenance ZMII® spray nozzle remains clog free while providing even and constant water distribution, providing the industry's best performing non-corrosive, maintenance-free water distribution system.
- ZMII spray nozzles have a 1-1/4" diameter opening and a 1-1/4" splash plate clearance
- Mounted in corrosion-free PVC water distribution pipes that have threaded end caps
- Provides unequaled coil coverage and scale prevention
